After the original foreign supplier stopped delivering engines
to an Iranian car manufacturer, Farafan contracted to supply
15,000 engins for the Renault R5 passenger car to that
government-owned company.
Fifteen months after signing the contract, the first ten
samples were prototyped and successfully tested . Production
at Farafan's factory began and continues; cars equipped with
Farafan's engines are now on the road.
